' Less is More' Week 8 (card 3)

Yet another card for the 'Less is More' challenge again, last one this week, I promise.
I think I am addicted to  LIM card making now, I just loved this
sketch, thanks C&M I will use it again. I couldn't resist a gold /cream card,
( pic a bit wonky too sorry).
I used a  PP gold colour matt , then added some lovely flowers from (wild orchid crafts),
colouring some with Copics to match the matt.
I added some punched leaves coloured to match with Copics, then stamped the sentiment
with sand beige colour ink. Getting much braver stamping direct to card now :O)

Engagement card

This is the card I made for my eldest son and his new fiancee. 
We are all so pleased for them both.I hope they will like this card.
Not seen them as yet as they are still in Ecuador ( where he popped the question)
doing work for Sarah's children's charity there .She has raised so much money
for them now and helped such a lot of families and children. Can't leave a link to that
here as her website is down atm., will do later though.Anyway here is the card.

 

Less is More ( week 8) card 2

Here is my second attempt this week for the 'Less is More' challenge. Such lovely cards already there, I think we are all improving now.Well done to everyone, sorry if I don't get round to leaving you a message . So many people to visit as the site gets more and more popular.A very big thankyou to all the fabulous people who have left me comments too, everyone much appreciated!
This card is snow white linen card again, I embossed a matt  using the daisies folder. Then I stamped direct to card again for the sentiment....I am getting more brave doing this now. I made a flower using some pretty crepe paper and added a pearl and punched some leaves and coloured them to match the flower using my Copics.More pink again here, sorry but I do love that colour!!! Hope you like my second effort this week, thanks for looking and any comments.

Less is More ( week 8)

We are up to week 8 now in the 'Less is More' challenge,
wow the time has flown!!! I am learning so much, mostly
my cards are rubbish lol....but I am improving too, thanks
C&M. These challenges are really making me think......... a lot ,
my brain( known as Brian by me....don't ask!) hurts now lol.
Anyway I had an idea quite quickly this week ,(yes I was
surprised too). It's  to use a sketch this time,has to be a long 
thin card too, not one I make really. I used some lovely snow
white linen card ( I intended using for my daughter's wedding
invites but didn't in the end).I used a strip of card printed
with (PP washed damask pink) and used a sewing wheel
to make pin holes to add interest.Then I used Tim Holtz
distress ink in worn lipstick on the edges. I made a matching 
flower using the same ink, a nestie and my quilling tool......
was on a roll then lol! I added leaves punched with black
and white pattern paper, some edged with the ink again. 
Then I stamped ..... yes stamped direct to card, oooh that
is so scary for me.I used some cute chinese stamps I had,
love, happiness and peace ones. Such a long explanation
too today.........sorry!!!
I may try more in other colours now as I am so pleased
how the card turned out.Hope you like it too:O)
It will need a box because of the flower though.........darn!!!

 

'Less is More' challenge ( week 7) last two cards

These are my last two entries this week for the 'Less is More' challenge.
I just had to make two more attempts lol.................I need more masculine
 cards anyway................well that's my excuse!
The first card I made here are using 'Serendipity' stamps. A lovely friend
bought me these as she knows I make lots of bookmarks and she thought
they would go really well with them on a card ....how kind of her. I coloured
 them with Copics & Promarkers. The wording is from the same set but it
 was  way too large to stamp that on the card too so I used the same words but
computer generated in gold colour and made a wavy line with them also.I aged
 around the edge of the books matt with Tom Holtz distress inks. Matted that
part on gold card, then onto white linen card.

My second  card is for my brother, I used Chrissie's idea of cutting a nestie down.
Great tip that thanks Chrissie, I did a matt in navy card then printed the image on
white card ( hug bug image). I resized both matt's using Chrissie's idea of cutting
 the nestie down.I then embossed around the edge of both again using Chrissie's idea.
Computer generated wording again, cool dots font ( I think).
Hope you like both cards and are not sick of seeing all my efforts this week!!!!!

'Less is More' (week 7) card 3

My last attempt with these 'ties' lol. I found some lovely brown ribbed
card stock and it screamed 'man card' to me. So here is my last effort
with them, I thought bright orange would be a good colour choice too.
There are little pads behind the wording...........there are really, just
 thinnish ones !!!!
'Less is more' challenge again................and yes  my name is Viv and
I have 'Lessismoreism'.......and there is no cure !!!

'Less is More' challenge ( week 7) card 2

This is my second effort for this week.............and there may be more lol!
I had already finished it when I read Chrissie's comments.........I so agree
Chrissie, ......well it is almost in the middle and it is up on little pads, hard
to see here.I thought the bold colour looked better too.Daddy tie font as before.
I need more men's cards in my stash, so watch this space!!!!  For the 'Less is More'
challenge again btw.

'Less is More' challenge (week 7) card 1

 Week seven now, how time flies! This week over at 'Less is More'

the challenge is to make a masculine card.Not one of my favourite
cards to make..........that's an understatement !!! Anyway it has
got my brain in overdrive thinking of what to make again. I came
up with several ideas, here is the first. I used a computer generated
font to make the wording, it's called Daddy tie .I coloured it using
Promarkers in the colours of the rainbow in order......well that was the idea anyway.

Here are some eidelweiss flowers ( I think??), some  sweet violets just appearing and some apricot blossom too.
Hope the frost doesn't get the blossom now!

'Less is more' challenge card ( week 6)

Week 6 of the ' Less is More' challenge, finding it harder and harder each week!
Still not sure about this one but I do love the cute image so here it is. Penny black image ,
I used  Tim Holtz distress inks and chalks to colour it,computer generated font
.......JellykaEnd_lessVoyage font ( thanks for the deciphering trick Chrissie).

Another 'Less is More' card ( week 5)

Another 'Less is More' card again. I am so loving these challenges, really my kind of cards the simple uncluttered ones. Thanks to Chrissie & Mandi for starting this lovely new site.I made a longer tent fold card this time,digi image by 'passion for stamps', coloured with LuminArte watercolour paints for a change. I like the shine you get with these paints. I decoupaged some of the flowers and added a nice spotty ribbon too.Thanks for looking :O)
