Week 30 recipe (card 2)

Just couldn't resist making another card today, I
am a hopeless addict of this site now as you can
probably see from my blog.
If you could only see the mess  I have made in
my craft room!!! The 'Less is More' challenge
again, 'recipe' which is  'take three challenges', so
to use previous challenges there as inspiration.
I used week 5 pastel colours,week 13 'Thank
you or Congratulations ' & week 15 'embossing'.
I seem to have pink on the brain at the moment,
( no change there my friends would quickly say).
I think it is wondering if my expected grandbabies
are girls as my sons seem to think...well the eldest
son and my DIL who is expecting with my youngest
son think so...... the respective partners aren't sure.
Anyway I  digress!!!!! here is my pink card, tent
fold ( yes managed it this time). I embossed some
cute daisies on the base card and chalked  the daisies
with white chalk ( after much experimenting with nail
file first then chalk). I used computer generated wording,
Augusta Cancelaresca Swash font ( top & bottom bits)
& Calamity Jane NF font middle bit.I cut the wording
out using my new nesties ( labels 20),.. love them! Then I
used 'spun sugar' TH distress ink to shade the background.
It was all edged with a Copic ( tender pink)& some glamour
dust just inside too( hard to see, so I did a closeup). Some
lovely white silk ribbon finished it all off. I am quite pleased
with this card, looks a tad paler irl. I think I will make one in
blue now also with different embossing as I am liking this new
nesty shape so much, think you will be seeing many more cards
using that lol.
ps. I put two tiny babies feet in the corners of the background
too if you look really hard :O)

Week 30 (take three challenges)

It's week 30 over at 'Less is More' &
this week it's a 'Recipe'  & 'take three
challenges'. So I have chosen week 14
'colour' which was 'white on white', also
week 13 which was'Thankyou or
Congratulations '. My final one is taken
from week 15 which was 'embossing'.
Great idea C&M to use this recipe as
it has so many possibilities using themes
from all the previous weeks challenges.
I had already decided to make a white
on white card again if it was possible
so was amazed to find C&M had aready
decided on  the same idea for a card too.
Right back to my card, I made a tent fold
linen card as usual ( well I almost always seem
to make a tent fold card). Then cut a strip
of white card and embossed it with the
swiss dots folder, then 3d'd it to base card.
I added a strip of sheer white ribbon ( hard
to see here), then cut a tag with my new
nesties (  fancy tags 2), then 3d'd that to
card also.
I punched a few flowers and embossed those
& added tiny pearls, also added a few
punched leaves too.I stamped congratulations
in silver and heat embossed that in silver/white.
That's when I realised my mistake.....arggghhhhhh!!
I had stuck the layers to the card on the wrong way,
so it opens sideways and not a tent fold!!!Never mind
just try to imagine it as a tent fold card as I always
think they look nicer! enjoy the bank holiday everyone:O)

Been busy knitting!

As I am to be a grandparent( 2 expected) for the first time, I
decided to do a spot of knitting :O) Here is what I have made
so far, seems I am in a bit of a knitting frenzy at the moment !!
I did a few bits in pink & blue as I just couldn't resist lol. They
both seem to think they are expecting girls for some reason....
we will see.....any is ok for me though :O)
All white set
If one or both is a girl/s, I would embroider small flowers & leaves on the jacket  at the bottom
white set ( headband for a girl) the hat is tiny...maybe too tiny!

Lemon set

Cream set

Pink set  for a girl ( being a lover of pink I just adore these)

Blue set for a boy

Beach photo's

Here  are a few beach photo's taken recently.
They are of one of our fav beaches ,Wells.
Hope the like the pics. The sky was so blue that day
& the sand is always a lovely creamy white colour
esp.near the little 'island'  we walk out too.The sand
looks darker in some places as the tide had just
gone out btw. There are some pretty beach huts
too in every pale shade you can imagine. You can
walk back  via a forest  area if  don't want to walk
along the beach .
The last pic was a surprise........not a clue what it is??
any ideas??
So many little colourful huts.

A closer look.
View to the right
Closer view,...we saw seals basking one year here.
View to the left
View from walk back via forest, the little 'island' of sand we walk out to.
The forest area, lots of twisty paths here.
Always my fav view, walking up to the little 'sand island'.

UFO?? water bottle...hmm didn't have one!.....no idea what this is!

LIM challenge week 29 ( card 2).

Here is my second attempt this week
with a card for  the 'Less is More'
website, where it's 'theme' week and
'things that move'.I made a few
others but  I am still calling this my
second card as the other cards were
almost identical.
Enough waffle!!! I used my 'laundry'
digi image from cuddly buddly again.I think
this washing 'moves' on the washing line so
qualifies :O)
Quite pleased this time.....less cluttered
and more LIM- like I think, hope you
agree. I printed the image out twice and
used Copics to colour it then used
glamour dust on it also. Then I attached
it with 3d pads to the image I printed on
the card. I also printed a little sentiment
( computer generated), then  chalked the
edges & cut with nesties labels.
I threaded a cute blue gingham ribbon
through it to finish it off, after rounding
one bottom corner of the card also.

Had a lovely afternoon, it was hot and
sunny for a change so I invited our elderly
neighbour over with her little dog. She
doesn't have a garden and loves ours. I
made scones and we had tea and scones
in the back garden listening to a country&
western band singing ( at the old people's
home nearby I think). One happy old lady
& doggie, the dog had a paddle in our
stream too & we had a game of chase
the ball too :O)

The very cute Daisy dog.

LIM Challenge week 29 (theme).

It's week 29 over at 'Less is More' and
this week we have 'theme' week which is
'things that move'.I made a quick card.....
well I made three versions of it ! I wanted
to incorporate the colours blue /pink/yellow
so it's suitable for a boy or girl.Hmmm not
sure that worked. The first card looked
too fussy for a LIM card. The second one
wasn't bad but still too much on it, so I
changed the flowers.I will show them in
order of which I like best rather than
which was made first........hope you are
still with me !!! The things that move here
are the cute little feet charm ....and also
the baby is sort of swinging on that half
moon.......well it could be!! Will try again
as still not happy yet with these, have a
lovely weekend everyone xx
Recipe...
I used a verse I had saved using a
Bernhard Fashion BT font. Image is
a hug bug one 'moon baby' .I used
my nesties 'Fleur de lis squares' to cut
the shape,after first printing the
sentiment. Then I shaded the matt
with pink/yellow/blue chalks.I
attached the 'feet' charm then added
a white sheer ribbon and added a rose.
The other versions are similar but I
added either more flowers( all from wild
orchid crafts) or blue and yellow ribbon
& a tiny pink ribbon also.
ps. Having looked again I am liking the
last one best now, but still not happy
with any of the cards yet......

LIM challenge week 28 one layer ( more cards)

Another few 'goes' at this week's 'Less is More'
challenge. I still can't get my cards just right but
I thought I would show you what I came up
with anyway!just won't show you what went
in the bin lol. I am enjoying playing with inks
which is a first for me so thanks C&M for
the challenge again.
These first two cards are tiny 3" & 3 1/2 "
squarish, but ok just for a 'play' I thought.
The last two are 4 " square and A6 size btw.
All made using TH Distress inks and my trusty
black fineliner for details. Various stamps I used
are a cheap foam square one, a violet Hampton
arts stamp, small flower from a set with a duck
in it ( no idea of make) and sentiment is from
that same set too.

LIM challenge (week 28) one layer

It's week 28 over at the 'Less is More' website.
This week it's a 'one layer' card &' ink', I seem
to dread making these one layer cards...although
I did a one layer card last week !....so maybe I
am getting used to the idea.
Anyway I had a quick 'go' at it today , three cards
would you believe!!!! my fav is this one I think,
still not got it quite right......may have another bash
later in the week...or not! I used various inks and
stamped them onto a clear block then used my
paintbrush to make a little scene. I added various
bits using a fine ink liner to finish them.
The others I made in a similar way except the
larger square card which I used a clear block
and ink then  spritzed with water and stamped that
for a background.Hmmm still not sure about any
of them! have a good weekend everyone anyway!

ps. Forgive me if some of them look crooked, they
need putting under a heavy book I think, they warped slightly
with the water and ink used.

LIM challenge week 27 ( card 2).

Here is my second card for this week's 'Less is More'
challenge. The theme is colour or colours of your nation's
flag.Mine is the Union Jack. I used a flower stamp
I have had for ages, from a set of flowers called
'flower heads' from rubbadubbadoo. I stamped
them in navy blue ink, then coloured them with
chalks and pencil crayons.
Then I glittered the middles of the flowers, added
a red ribbon and used a sentiment stamp using navy
ink again from a set I have with butterflies and
dragonflies( no name).

Hard to type with my false nails ( did them for
the wedding) , so forgive me if I didn't leave
you a comment this week :O)

ps. So excited today just had lunch with my youngest son
to celebrate his 30th ( yesterday) his wife's 30 in a few days
& my 60th last  Monday. Not only that I saw the first baby
scan of their baby, soooooo cute.I also saw the baby scan
from my other son and daughter in law a few weeks ago, both
healthy babies I am glad to report............just magical!!!!!

LIM challenge( week 27) colour

It's now week 27 ( how did that happen) over at the
'Less is More' website. This week the challenge is colour
or colours of your nations flag. I chose the Union Jack,
so red white and blue.
Simple card again but I am liking simple lately. Just some
triangles of red and blue card threaded with blue shiny thread.
A stamped image(using neptune ink) of a flower and thank you
sentiment. Then I edged it in  the same colour ink & used a red
ribbon to thread through it all.I 3d'd the tiny flower
which I also coloured red and navy and glittered.I popped the
flags up on 3d pads and also the sentiment too for a
little dimension. Also took a corner off the bottom of one side
of the card.Quick and easy hope you like it.

ps.Son's wedding pics on earlier post if you want a nosey!
