This week over at 'Less is More' it's
lucky dip week & the theme is 'Stars'.
I made a quick card using an image
from my GCF programme . Once
printed I cut it out using my nesties.
I then chalked the edge & added
glamour dust to the stars. I punched
a silver star and added a little star
shaped charm to it....well it's a star
fish really but it kinda looks like a
star :O) I added computer generated
wording to complete it.

LIM challenge week 38 (card 2)

This week we have a really easy recipe which is simply
POLKA DOTS
As long as your design is Clean and Simple, has some white space (or its equivalent) and polka dots in evidence somewhere, it will be perfect for this challenge.

Entering this for 'Less is More' again .
Used dotty paper & ribbon & spots on
dress too....still LIM enough I hope.
I made this quick card for my neice
when I heard she was also expecting
a baby.Funny how it's been all weddings
in the family lately. My daughter & my
neice last year, then my son this year.
Now both my sons( well wives) and my
neice are all expecting next year lol.
Anyway back to the card. I used my
trusty nesties and a PP image coloured
with Promarkers. My lovely yummy new
papers ( been dying to try them). Ideal in
yellow I thought as we don't know the sex
of the baby yet.The ribbon matches the
paper & I couldn't resist them along with
some matching flowers too( not used here).
These ones are just punched.
All bought with my birthday money I might
add! I like the way the top layer with the
image bulges a bit, accidental but appropriate
I thought he he! Oh and I made a matching liner
for the envelope too. The insert also has a
yellow/white centre but forgot to take a pic of that.

Sorry for rambling again.....just to add if I
go missing for a while it will be because of
computer problems.My screen keeps going
white on start up & I have to reboot. My son
says it's either my monitor (£100 to replace)
or my graphics card ( £40) needs replacing.
Hope it's the latter! anyway he will need to
order it then come and replace it so may
take a while if it completely 'goes' on me :O(

recipe
White Linen card
Papermania papers ( Capsule Lemon sorbet)
Papermania ribbon ( Capsule Lemon sorbet)
Pink Petticoat image
Promarkers Ivory, Blush, Lemon & Canary
Spellbinders Nestabilities
Woodware large blue flower punch ( makes 5)
Gems from stash
Sentiment computer generated ( Passions conflict ROB)

LIM challenge week 38

This week we have a really easy recipe which is simply
POLKA DOTS
As long as your design is Clean and Simple, has some white space (or its equivalent) and polka dots in evidence somewhere, it will be perfect for this challenge.
This is my card for this week's 'Less is More'
challenge, details above. I found some bright pink
spotty ribbon in my stash which I was tempted to
use. Seeing as I am always using pink ( no surprise
there). However I resisted the urge  this time and
found this black spotty ribbon instead. I coloured
this cute image in orange/spice colours and used
my dotty folder too for a spot ( no pun intended)
of embossing.I put a bit of glamour dust on the
dots on the image too.Oh btw. I 3d'd the little snow
children too.......snow children that made me giggle :O)
So with the spots in the image, spots on the ribbon
and spots on the card I think I will stop now before I
begin to see spots before my eyes!
ps.see below for pics of the craft stuff I chose with my
lovely prize money from 'Less is More' , will play
with it very soon I promise & thanks again.

recipe
White linen card stock
Personal impressions stamp
black card stock
Spotty ribbon from stash
Cuttlebug dotty folder
Glamour dust
Promarkers saffron,pumpkin,terracotta,bright orange & ice grey 1

Another card for 'Less is More' again.
The theme is COCKTAIL, details on
earlier post.Just a quick card again but
I am happier with this one I think. Sorry

Free colouring pages image coloured
with  Copics and Promarkers.Ribbon
& gem added from stash.It's lovely &
sunny here atm. so going for another
walk now as OH is getting restless lol.
Have a good weekend everyone!

LIM challenge week 37

It's week 37 over at 'Less is More',
this weeks the theme is .........

                                                                    COCKTAIL
You may interpret this however you wish... your favourite tipple, the colours of a cocktail or a simply cocktail of colours. Let your imagination run with this one, it will be interesting to see how imaginative you can be.
Here is a little fun... you can follow the link to see what cocktail you are...

You Are Made Of Fascination, Sweetness, and Drive

3 parts Fascination
2 parts Sweetness
1 part Drive

And a Splash of Kindness

Serve over ice

Here is my first card for this weeks challenge, not that keen on it but posting it anyway. Oh I do hope my mojo hasn't deserted me!!! Made on the computer using various bits of  free clipart, the wording bit was the trickiest I think.I added a little cocktail umbrella I made too.The cherries were covered in 3D gloss to accent them also.
ps. No idea why my text is so narrow.......blogger playing up today!!

LIM challenge week 36 (card 2)

A second card for 'Less is More'
again. This week it's a one layer card
& the theme is heart/hearts.

The can be singular, multiple, any colour,
but, MUST be a one layer card, with no
additional layers stuck on, apart from the
odd embellishment or ribbon!
I used a nestie as a template again & chalked
all around it.I then stamped some tiny flowers
in a matching blue colour in the white heart
space.I added a sentiment, gem and ribbon.Light
wasn't good for taking photo.....sorry!
I recently made a chart with all my ink colours.
It took ages as I have a lot now but it was so handy
when it came to choosing a matching blue for this
week's flowers in the heart shape.
ps. See previous post for my Lake District photo's :o)

recipe
Linen card stock
Heart nestability ( as template)
Papermania sentiment
Memento Tuxedo black ink

Lake District photo's Oct 2011

Here are a few photo's from our recent trip
to the Lake  District. It's very close to my
original home ( and OH's too) so we know
it very well. We like to revisit once if not
twice a year as we miss it so much.......but
not the driving rain which they so often get.
No wonder everything is so green! Anyway
the weather was superb this time ( & hot) we
saw mountains we have never seen before.
They are always surrounded by mist etc.
The first pic is  Ashton Memorial taken in
Williamson park in Lancaster,( my home
town). It's of a monument there built by a
loving husband for his lovely wife as a memorial,
I was always so impressed by this....what
a tribute eh! It has loads of marble steps up
to the top & I used to run up them often as
a child. They do weddings there now I believe
too (google it), how romantic.
The rest of the park is awesome too, large
pond with fountain, little bridge, lots of little
paths to explore. The smell of the carpet of
wallflowers at the entrance was amazing at
one time....gone now I fear...and the lovely
rose garden went the same way...but it's still
so lovely......go see it sometime!
Anyway I hope you enjoy seeing this little
taste of the Lakes & that you all might visit
it sometime & fall in love with it just like we
did many years ago! Enjoy the photo's :O)

Williamson park (Ashton Memorial)
Hardknott pass ( slate quarry & slate shop here at top)

Hardknott pass

View from path on walk round Buttermere ( don't do climbing!)
Walk round Buttermere ( Rydal water is just as pretty and only about an hour to walk round btw.....will do that one next time )
Walk round Buttermere
Second part of walk round Buttermere, takes  about 2 hrs walking briskly...my feet were  so sore even with proper walking boots, darn that Arthritis !!
Grange in Borrowdale (so beautiful but a hidden treasure,to start the walk  go over  the bridge & follow tiny path beside cafe).
Newlands valley( there are old gold, silver  & copper mines here...plumbago( graphite) too somewhere(?) & platinum. We found a huge piece of graphite once too, no gold yet though ! )
Windermere ( so busy in summer go in Spring or Autumn)
Windermere ( the trees in Autumn look spectacular everywhere in the Lakes, esp. the maples), too early here yet though!
Ennerdale ( lovely walk to waterfall &  then shop with nice view see later pic) great pub at start or end too!
Langdales ( breathtaking views)
Skelwith bridge ( view at end of other walk)shop & cafe here too
Sunset at Morecambe bay, (famous for Eric Morecambe & the amazing shrimps) some amazing sunsets seen here, see Heysham too nearby with tiny  very old church and follow path there up to very old relics & amazing views and sunsets & beach with cliffs!

LIM challenge week 36

I must first just say how shocked & pleased
I was to be chosen as the September winner
at 'Less is More'. So many talented LIMettes
there now I am most humbled! A big thankyou
to Chrissie & Mandi,I am most grateful.
I hope to show you the goodies I get & cards
I make with them  at a later date :O)

It's week 36 now over at 'Less is More',
and this week it's the dreaded one layer card.
The theme is to use a  heart/hearts.

The can be singular, multiple, any colour,
but, MUST be a one layer card, with no
additional layers stuck on, apart from the
odd embellishment or ribbon!
( Do I get an extra LIMy point for noticing
the missing d in additional?).....maybe not....
might just be a slap eh !!!!!

I decided to revisit an idea I used a while ago.
I used a stamp I had scanned ages ago ( can't
find it now so lucky I scanned it). I often scan
them as they are easier to use sometimes. That
was before I got happy with stamping too.So I
printed the word stamp then added a sentiment
above the heart so it looks as if it is hanging. It
says ' True Love never fails' btw. if you can't
make it out. I liked the font as it was a bit
ribbon like I thought. I then sponged distress ink
over a nestie heart using it as a template. I
then used two bits of scrap card to make a
template to sponge a line over the sentiment also.
I added the pink heart as I felt it needed something
to add a little interest......still not sure about it
though & wish it was a tad smaller too.
Sorry for the long post I was rambling today I think!!

ps. I have more baby news........it seems we are
expecting not one but two grandbaby boys :O) As
they are expected to be born only about 4 weeks
apart I think they will be such great friends & cousins.
Lots of blue knitting now for me!!!!

recipe
Computer generated font ( top bit) Albermarle End Swash
Heart stamp ( unknown)
TH distress ink Spun Sugar
Pink heart gem from stash ( maybe poundland, very cheap anyway)
