Here is my third card for this week's
'Less is More' challenge.I am trying
something different again, seems to
be my theme this week lol.I used a
dingbat font ( Christmas cheer) which
had images instead of letters, for the
image today.I coloured it with Copics &
Promarkers.Then added glamour dust
& Diamond Dust for 'a bit of bling' which
is the theme this week.I love the
chunkiness of the larger glitter (DD), just
realised today that it is REAL glass too.
I cut the image out with a nestie, then
chalked around the image too....sorry
yet more pink lol. I also cut a 'nestie' hole
in the card , embossed around the hole,
then suspended the image 'mid air' so to
speak. Took me a while to figure out how
to do it, as I didn't want it stuck to the back
of the card but 'hovering'( almost wrote
hoovering then he he).
So hard to get a decent photo of this too , sorry.
Sentiment computer generated & I added a
gem to the 'i' for a bit more bling.
Added later !!! Ok so you want to know how
I 'suspended' the circle in mid air?? Well I messed
about with ideas for a while then finally hit on the
answer. I cut a narrow strip of acetate then attached
that to the back of the circle. Then I creased the strip at both
ends a little from the edge( about 1 1/2 cms). I bent
the edge strips forwards facing the back part of the front
piece of the whole card....oh my!!!... hope you are still
with me there.I attached two small 3d pads to the edges
of this strip...just in a bit so the pad/strip didn't show
above the circle. Job done!..... the circle now ' hovers'
in between the card front and back.Do hope that is clear
enough ! it folds almost flat for posting too btw.
More rambling below!
Been cleaning ( or celaning as my friend calls it )
today again. First the bathrooms then the oven
today...a nasty job which I hate! It's feeling colder
now brrr, hope you are all keeping warm.My daughter
is all sorted in her lovely new home now ( she had
EVERYTHING unpacked and house sorted in 4 days!!!!).
My son moves next week too, all go here.
