Pretty frame card

It's  week 61 over at 'Less is More' & lucky dip this week.
They have chosen a
                            Picture Inspiration
which is ..................

I made a square card base again ( Linen card) & then cut two matts,
one was chalked on the edge in green and the other was a Pink
Petticoat pattern. I cut another layer using my nesties and chalked
that with green also. Then I die cut a little label after printing a sentiment
first. I chalked the edges of the label and added some pearls. A few
flowers & die cut leaves completed the card. Nice Spring colours
Chrissie & Mandi  have chosen this week, the sunshine has helped us think
of Spring too, although it has gone now lol..... typical !

ps. I will be choosing someone at random tomorrow to win an image from
'Beccy's Place', good luck everyone, all details at the top of the page.

Pink fairy card

Hi crafters ! & a big welcome to all my latest followers also.
Here is a card I have made using a beautiful LOTV image.
I used my fav colour pink again lol. I coloured the image
using Promarkers & Copics, then added a bit of glamour dust
too. Cut with a 'Lacey circle' nesty , then layered on another
nesty...... 'Lacey squares'. I edged both nesty's using some soft
pink chalks.A stamped sentiment ( Jane's script), and a handmade
flower & a few punched leaves completes the card.
I am entering it into the LOTV competition HERE,  which is to use
a mum or a pink theme using one of their girly images.

ps. Thanks for all the good wishes for the funeral, it all went as well as
any of these occasions can do.

Blue flowers card

It's week 60 now over at 'Less is More' & it's
a recipe this time which is...........
                Take three challenges
We have to combine three challenges from previous
weeks so I chose the following.

Week 5 colour pastel colours
Week 16 theme butterfly/butterflies
Week 22  colour shades of blue

I used my new Artemio clear stamps & stamped
three of the flower heads onto a layer of card. I hand
drew the stems as I found the stem stamp parts a bit
thick and blurry looking when stamped...so annoying
that. I then used some chalk to add interest. I
punched a butterfly and coloured it in a matching
Promarker. I stamped the sentiment ( Jane's script),
using the same blue ink as one of the flower heads
(Ultramarine). A little glamour dust on the edge of
the flowers & a few coloured pearls completed
the card. I used little 3d pads to raise the main image
 layer too.
Such a busy time this next week, including a funeral,
days away, baby sitting , trips to my sons & an Easter
egg hunt & meal I always host for all our children etc. at
the weekend too.So  that's why I had to make my card
 so early.Happy crafting everyone !

The container arrives !

This is just a quick post to show you some very happy children !
My daughter in law started a charity in Ecuador see details below
 in her words.
"I have spent a lot of time in Ecuador as I have set up a charity called
the Mashi Foundation. It is registered with the Charity Commission in
the UK and we work with children living in poverty both in urban and
rural areas of Ecuador. You can find more information about this by
clicking on the link: "   http://www.mashifoundation.org/
Anyway a large container she sent recently has just arrived and here are
some of the photo's they sent back to us. Sarah had spent many months
trying to organize the paperwork alone, with trips to London & embassies
too. Her poor mother had to put up with a bedroom completely full of large
boxes for months too lol. We all rallied round, friends & relatives to donate
any unwanted clothing, shoes, bedding & also toys ,lots of things really.
She also bought some uniforms & boots for the firemen in the village who
help with the distribution of goods and have been such a help to her. That was
a surprise so they must have been thrilled too.
Sarah also makes lovely jewellery which she sells to give further aid to these
poor children & families. See the Wapa-Wapa link on sidebar or HERE for
more details of her jewellery . Here are a few photo's anyway :)

Spring flowers & a Party Pig !

It's a lovely  warm sunny Spring day here today, I
hope you are all getting the good weather too. I took
a couple of photo's of some beautiful daffodils today in
our garden & also some frogspawn...so much of it.
Also here is another DT card & lovely digi image from
Beccy again over at Beccy's Place. It's called 'Party Pig',
 & is available HERE .
Such a great fun image I think. I used a cream card base
for a change this time. I cuttled a strip of card which I
thought maybe resembled straw ( thinking pig lol !!!).
Then I added another nesty & another which I shaded
in pink chalk. The final nesty had the cute party girl
herself & was coloured using Copics & Promarkers
once again. I added a computerized sentiment & a few
leaves and two handmade flowers plus one bought one.
A bit of glamour dust here and there completed the card.
Hope you like it & get out and enjoy this Spring weather
while it lasts. We are off for another forest walk again today,
as soon as I have tidied my craft room.......such a mess
in here atm lol ! Byeeee for now everyone.

Purple flowers LIM card

Another card for this week's 'Less is More' challenge. It's week 59 & the theme is
                                                       MASKING
I had hardly any space left on my craft areas ( yes I have two!),.... just didn't have time
to put everything away since last time. I am so glad you can't see what a mess I made,
I really must get a grip !!!!!! However when inspiration strikes we have to just craft
amongst the mess don't we he he :)
Right back to the card, I stamped a flower, one of a set I have had for ages now
( Rubbadubbadoo flower heads) ....they have rubber backing  too which I don 't like.
I stamped another flower to make a mask, then stamped twice again. I coloured the
flowers using Promarkers , added some glamour dust & a few gems. I stamped a
sentiment ( Jane's script) & 3d'd the flower strip to the card leaving a bit over the
edge for a change. Hope you like it,............& at least it isn't pink again lol !

I would also like to enter this onto the 'I love Promarkers' challenge too which is 'ANYTHING GOES'

Handmade flowers & a tutorial

Hi everyone, it's a lovely sunny Spring like day here today.
I hope you are all having good weather too !
I made these little handmade flowers the other day when
our electricity was off due to our new gas boiler being fitted.
So lovely to have hot water and heating again now. Anyway
it was something to do while I couldn't be on my computer.
I made a few in  different colours, mainly using distress inks
to colour them. You may see them in weeks to come
appearing on my cards now :)
Here is a little tutorial on how to make them  as I thought
you may want to have a go yourself. They are quite fiddly but
quite easy to make really, maybe you already know how to
make them ?? I have seen a lot of tutorials on the web, but
this is just a handy reminder in case you haven't seen any.
I did get rather covered in glue and distress ink after making
them, so we warned ...it is a tad messy !!!!!
After making a few, I quite liked the sepia coloured ones best
so made more of those as you can see. The last flower was made
just using a five petal flower punch , shading with distress inks
and then scrunching & adding a few stamens...not sure about
that one !
In the tutorial I first cut a strip of thinnish card, then used my
fancy scissors on the edge of one side. I made little cuts along
the top. I then curled the small cut ends & used distress ink
along the edge and  the curled bits.I used some tacky glue to
stick the flower as I rolled it up and pulled back some of the petals.
I shaped it a bit and played about with it until I was happy with it. I
used more glue on the edges and sprinkled glamour dust on top of that.
I think they will look a lot better on cards...they do look better irl too :)

ps. Can you see my two cutie pie grandsons at the top here :) Charlie's
first smile caught on camera and  an updated one of my latest grandson
Alex too! I got my first pressie off Charlie too on Sunday, a mug with
monkeys on & "to my Granny from your little monkey"......don't they just
melt your heart :)

Sorry this is blurred, just couldn't get a sharp pic of it after MANY tries argghhh!!!

Little scene card

Another card for 'Less is More' again. It's week 59 and the theme is
                                   MASKING
I made a little scene by masking the top part of the nesty shape &
using distress ink ( Peeled Paint). I then used a small circle to make
a mask for the sun image, I chalked around it in pink and blue. I added
a few tufts of grass using a Hobby Art stamp. I drew a few tufts of grass
to the other side & added a few birds to the sun image also. I stamped
a tree and a few leaves ( Create a scene stamps). A Jane's script stamp
was used for the sentiment, job done.
It's rainy here today and quite miserable looking, hope the weather is
better for you all wherever you are this weekend. Oh and Happy
Mother's day to you all :)
ps. A great big welcome to all my latest followers too!!!

Pretty Pansies & Scarlet Robin cards

More DT cards again made for Beccy
over at 'Beccy's Place' . The first card
is made using  a 'Pretty Pansies' digi
image.I just adore flower digi images
& Beccy has made such a lovely one
with these pretty pansies, available
HERE btw. I used my scalloped nesties
to make the card base & then I used a
round nesty matt softly chalked around the
edge. I stamped a key  and wording using
( Clear Art Stamps). I decoupaged the
pansies & added clear gems and glamour
dust. The image was coloured using Copics/
Promarkers again.
The second card is a 'Scarlet Robin' digi image
from Beccy again available HERE. I used chalks
& pencils on the bird image & Copics on the
flowers. I used my nesties again to cut around it
( Lacey circles), and a Mega nesty ( Curved
rectangles) for the base card.  Some pretty
sparkly pink card for the leaf ( Marianne die),
and a flower I found in my stash I had made
previously using 2 dies & watercolouring, puff
paint etc. I added a pink gem to the flower
and a love sentiment using a die also.
More DT cards soon, hope you like these :)

ps. Beccy has done a tutorial on making book box
cards if you are interested pop on over to her blog
it looks very interesting!

Script card 2

Here is another card for 'Less is More'  it's week 58, one layer card week
and the theme is  .............     ' SCRIPT '
I used a script stamp ( My Paper World )  & only used part of it so it was
'off the page'. I stamped a (Hobby Art) flower first and masked it before
stamping the script.I added a (Janes's script) sentiment & a few pearlized
dots to the flower. The ink was (Versafine Vintage Sepia) btw. Job done,
very simple card but think it qualifies as a LIM one.
A great big welcome to all my latest followers too !!!!!!

ps. Baby Alex is now home at last !!!!, & much healthier, so we all enjoyed some
lovely new baby cuddles......even though they were a whole week late ! To think
we almost lost this one.......doesn't bear thinking about now. So lovely to see him
home at last, his parents are over the moon too of course :)

Key to Love card

It's week 58 over at 'Less is More' & it's the dreaded 'one layer card' this time & also 'Script'.
Not quite as terrified as I used to be at the thought  of one layer card week... but still  a bit worried.
Does everyone else panic at  the thought of that blank card in front of them lol ?? It always surprises
me when an idea pops into my head !!!! I am glad to report one did....and quite quickly this time ,
which is always a blessing....not to mention a  relief !!!
Anyway enough of my ramblings.............I found this beautiful keys stamp ,which was a prize I won from
'Less is More' too so how appropriate I use it here :) It's part of a set (Clear Art Stamps' Keys to Life'.
I first made a computerized script in GCF, took me ages spacing it all, getting each word  to be straight
and also craning my head sideways........... as it's a tent fold card. Anyway I did all that and chose a soft
grey colour for the wording, apart from the main sentiment which I left black. Then I stamped my keys
image over the top using Momento  Tuxedo black ink ( love that ink). I used a soft grey Promarker to
shade the ribbon and keys as I wanted it to be a monochrome card. I added a little glamour dust on the
ribbons & that was it finished :) Hope you like it.
