Waves card

Good afternoon bloggers/friends ! I have yet another
'Less is More' card to show you today. Can you tell I
am loving this sketch ( see pic below) lol.I am using
TH distress inks again. I used an Adirondack dauber
in Pearl ( metallics)  to add some silvery highlights to the
'surf'.It looks very shiny and silvery irl. I added  my usual
hand drawn birds again ( becoming a habit now that). I
wondered about adding some 'sand' to this scene but
instead imagine you are in  a boat and seeing the waves
crash around you and seeing the skyline too :) Oooh is
anyone else quite worried by that image now??....pass the
life jackets lol ! Feeling a bit better today I am glad
to report, thankyou for all your good wishes.Have a
lovely 'rest of the week' too :)
ps. A big welcome to my latest follower also, welcome aboard.

Another pink card

Good morning, a nice sunny start here today, I hope you have
sun too. Here is another 'Less is More' card, really enjoying
the sketch this week so thought it would be rude not to do
more :) I bought quite a few new stamps recently so you will
be seeing lots of cards with them on now I fear. I thought this
pretty flower was such a nice simple stamp and couldn't wait
to use it. I see my lovely friend Lynne also used it, so forgive
me for posting mine too but I had made it already and it
seemed a shame not to post it. I also bought some  cheap
watercolour paper, it is a bit thin but I quite like the effect you
get using it. It's a bit like crepe paper don't you think ? I used
TH distress ink and left some of the edges white for texture.
Stamp (Hobbycraft), sentiment (Jane's script), lots of heat
embossing (Seafoam white) and liquid pearls on the flower
tips (White opal). I tore a piece of vellum for the little strip.
ps. feel terrible today with this horrid cold and didn't sleep
 much grrr!

Fairy card

Hi again, here is another 'Less is More' card for your perusal.
This week we have a sketch to follow. I will add it at the end
as I find it shows up in your feed  instead of your card........
has anyone else noticed that ?? I used  some TH distress inks
and dropped some water onto it for a different look. Then  I
added a sweet little new fairy stamp ( Magic fairy Hobbycraft),
the sentiment says 'The magic of you' btw. I used another
new stamp on the little added strip too ( Ornate flourishes
Inkadinkado). Have a lovely Sunday everyone, I think I am
coming down with  a cold again, sore throat atm. Serves me
right for letting our grandson ( he is one) kiss me twice on the
lips, but it was so unexpected  I was quite overwhelmed. He has
only done that to his daddy before it seems, so very sweet
of him :) Of course he was starting with a cold ,didn't know that.
I think my OH also has it ..........drat!!! I am off to make  some
 soup now,hmmmmmmm leek and potato I think.Take care :)

Take flight card

Good morning everyone, hope you all have a fabulous weekend.
Today I have my last card to show you  as Guest Designer
for 'The Craft Barn' for this month. This time the theme is
'take flight' so I have used an old airplane stamp coloured red
( so many of the old ones seemed to be red when I looked
at them.) This stamp is no longer available btw. ( cArt Us one)
so I am giving an alternative below. The  red is more pink  looking
here for some reason ! There is pink in parts from  the sun  but
as I look at it irl. it IS red at the edges.....honestly! Anyway come
 and have a closer look........................

Card Recipe
I first made a  white texturized card base ( 13cm x 15cm) & used
it tent fold. Then I cut another piece of white card (12cm x 13cm)
and cut a border from the bottom.I sponged the spare piece of
card  around the edges to give it  more  of an antique look.I shaded
the border piece in pink then  in a brown shade to match the main
card. I cut a circle then sponged it  in pink then in a brown shades
around the edges to give it a distressed look. I stamped the plane then
coloured it , shading it as I did so. I printed a sentiment and used a
corner rounder on the edges then gave it a  distressed  look also. I
used small 3d pads to stick the spare piece of card to the base
card to give it a bit more dimension. I stuck the border down using
some spray adhesive as it was less fiddly than using glue ( handy tip) .
I stuck the circle to the spare card using  3d pads to raise it up a bit.
I did the same with  the plane image. After adding the sentiment I
added a few birds for extra interest, using a black permanent
 pen, that completed my card.

All white card

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well and enjoying good weather
wherever you are in the world. It's lovely and warm here today
again, I fear it won't last though lol. Today I have a card to show
you with  some flowers I made recently. Hope you like it,  I
think I am  hooked on  making my own flowers now.
 Happy crafting :)
ps. I will be posting again on Saturday with my last project
'Take flight' as  Guest Designer this month for 'The Craft Barn'.
I prefer the top pic but you can't see the butterfly clearly.
I uses SB Decorative labels 8 and various dies/punches for
the flowers/leaves. The butterfly is a Tonic punch and the
wording was computer generated. I edged the wording
 piece using a silver Promarker.

Pink butterflies card

Good afternoon all, here is another quick post for the
'Less is More' challenge again. The brief this week was
to CASe one of two cards, I chose to CASe Chrissy's
yet again.Grab a tea/coffee and come and have a look
at what I made......
I used a new Kaisercraft clear stamp called 'Flutter',
loving that one now, so pretty. I wantercoloured
the image using TH Salty Ocean and Picked
Raspberry inks. The sentiment is from an old
Cuttlebug  die set. I couldn't stop myself using
some glitter (Glamour dust) on the sentiment also :)
Have a good week everyone, I am trying to lose
weight....again. Lots of healthy eating and more
 excercise....wish me luck !

Peacock feather card

Good morning everyone, it's another beautiful sunny day here
again today.I hope you all have the sun too ! Here is  another
'Less is More' card this week we have to..........................
CASe it
"We have only two sample cards this time as we would like you
choose one (or both if you feel so inclined)  and CASE IT/them.
There could be a variety of ways that this could be achieved... ie
use of the colours, the layout, the subject matter, technique or the
complete card. Please state the inspiration for your CASE "
I decided to CASe Chrissy's card, I have seen a  few cards with
this method in blogland so thought I would give it a go. Anyway
here is my effort , come and have a closer look..................
ps. The square doesn't look quite lined up here so I will add
 a closer pic front on.

I used the spotlight thing too, then kept the wording just black and white on top.
The 'Peacock feather' stamp is a HOTP clear one from  a small set, the 'Hi
sentiment is from the 'Olivia' alphabet dies set by Provocraft. I used pencil
crayons for the colouring, I tried Promarkers but it looked too heavy. The
'Hello' sentiment is from  a 'Jane's Script' clear stamp set.

Small scale projects

Hi everyone, here is my third post as Guest Designer for
'The Craft Barn'. The theme this week is 'Small scale'. So
I made small cards ( 9 1/2cm x 9cm) with tiny butterflies on,
also matching little tags and  bookmarks also. I used a citrus
colour theme this time, nice and Spring like I thought ! Anyway
come and have a closer look................
See below for special offer details at 'The Craft Barn'

Here they are all together.

I used the waste card etc. to cover this cocktail box also.

Card, Tag, Bookmark Recipes

Cards
I first made three white card blanks using some texurized card
to measure 9 1/2 cm x 9 cm and used them tent fold. I stamped a
large butterfly on a matching piece of card ( approx 7 cm x 6 cm).
I love how the stamp has writing on to add a bit of interest
too. I used a Memory Box die to cut some tiny butterflies. I
stuck four of the largest butterflies to the body of the large butterfly
stamped earlier. I added two smaller butterflies to the middle
of the other four. The last butterfly I coloured to match the large
butterfly and stuck that one to the centre of the large butterfly
stamp. I added a clear gem ( coloured to match using a
Promarker pen),..... handy tip. I used small 3d pads to stick the
butterfly topper to the main card. I used three nice bright
Spring coloured inks to make three matching little cards.
I am so temped to make three more now....blue...pink.... lilac !
Tags
I first printed a few sentiments onto some white texturized card.
I then cut it to (8 cm x 2 cm) and used a corner rounder to round
off the edges. I sponged some ink to add a bit of distressing
to the edges. I punched a small hole for the ribbon and stuck a tiny
butterfly to the tag ( after first colouring using more  ink to match).
I coloured some narrow satin ribbon ( using same method as  when
colouring the gem) and added that to the tag. I made three tiny
tags in all to match the cards.
Bookmarks
I used three of the smaller butterfly stamps ( from same set as
the large one used earlier) to stamp on to a piece of white
card (13 cm x 4 cm.)  I stamped a sentiment from the same butterfly
set also. I rounded the corners again then inked the edges.
I punched a hole and added some matching ribbon ,( coloured to match) .

I like the fact that you can have a card, a matching tag for a
gift and even a bookmark as the gift itself maybe :)

'Love in a Mist' silk ribbon bracelet

Good afternoon everyone, today I have more jewellery
to show you. It's a  bracelet this time, trying my hand at
some hammering and metal stamping.I used a real silk
ribbon again and added this cute metal tag. Took me a
while but getting the hang of doing metal stamping
/hammering now. The silk  ribbon is very soft on the
skin and it just wraps around your wrist where you tie it
and tuck the ends in.I will add it to my jewellery website
very soon ( link in side-bar).  Makes a change from a
necklace or earrings I thought :) I will be back on Saturday
to show you  my next projects I made as Guest Designer for
'The Craft Barn' where the theme is 'small scale'.
 See you all then !
I hammered this tag for texture then added a word  and some flowers using metal punches.
Matching gift card again

 chalking /masking/Promarkering ( is that a word lol...nope but
it should be ).Hand-drawn birds again too. See you tomorrow
when I have more jewellery to show you I think :)

An A5 card for a change.

Birds card

Good afternoon all, here is another card made for the
'Less is More' challenge again. It's one layer card week and
 this time the theme is..................
 A FILM
"Any film will do, but preferably one that most people will
have heard of. We'd obviously like you to tell us the title
of your film and not keep us guessing."

I used an old Lavinia 'Birds' stamp this time & masking
& a bit of chalking  and a computerized sentiment. The film
is of course 'The Birds' Have a great evening everyone !
ps. Hope you are liking my new blog layout too :)

Thanks Angie !

Lazy bear card

Hi again everyone, it's a beautiful warm ( 19C) sunny day here
today for a change.I hope you have good weather too wherever
you are. It's one layer card week again over at 'Less is More'
and this time the theme is..................
A FILM
"Any film will do, but preferably one that most people will have
heard of. We'd obviously like you to tell us the title of your film
 and not keep us guessing."
Luckily I soon had an idea and this is what I came up with,
come and have a closer look.........

I used a Digi Stamp Boutique image 'Snoozing Louie'.
The title of the film is very evident I hope : ),but  in case
you are still in  any doubt it is..... 'It's a Wonderful Life'.
One of my favourite films ! I added the zzzzzzz's as
I thought the picture just had something missing. Not sure
about  my colouring I wanted to give the bear a furry look,
hmmm must try harder. I am doing a couple more cards
now. I seem to warming  to this theme, thanks C & J
once again. Although I did make a card only to realise
it wasn't a film title but  a song title doh !!!!! Have a lovely
Sunday, we are off for yet another walk today now :)

Wild blooms card

Hi everyone, this is my second card  as Guest Designer for
'The Craft Barn'. This week it's 'circle' week so I decided
on a circular card. I made a tent fold card using the 'Lacey
circles' die & using some textured white card.I layered
another piece of white card cut using the 'Fleur De Lis'
die using some tiny 3d pads. .I shaded the Fleur De Lis die
cut just at the edges using some Momento Angel Pink'
ink and also a touch of Heliotrope at the very tips.

I layered another circle using some lilac card & cut using
the plain circle nestabilities. I cut another plain white circle which
I had first used the flower die to cut out the flower impression,
I used tiny 3d pads to layer again. I then used two Flexmarkers
(Aquamarkers) to shade just the tips of the flowers through the die
cuts. I stamped a small butterfly using the Heliotrope ink and
cut it out,I covered it with some glamour dust using a quickie glue
pen.I stuck the butterfly to the card. I attached an off-cut of
some lilac ribbon to the card and also added part of a heart from
the 'Precious hearts' set. I added a few clear gems to the heart.
That completed my card.
