Humming bird card

Good morning friends, it's a VERY wet August Bank
Holiday here ....no change there then ! I Think it
will rain all day too. I do hope it's better where
 you are today.

An ideal day to stay warm and dry in the craft room
and just make cards then ;) Maybe Summer has gone
now, I spy Autumn approaching rapidly.Anyway
I have another  'Less is More' card to share
with you again. The theme is Sprays/Mists this time.
I sprayed the card with TH spray stain and also the
images with water.

Have a good day everyone whatever you are up to.
Come and have a closer peek at my card ;)

ps. Our pirate day was good yesterday btw.
(Still recovering today!!)The  grandchilden all arrived
wearing stripey clothing. Some of the adults also
and I wore a stripey top  too ;)

One of the grandsons hadn't had much sleep
so wasn't on best form at times but I think the
treasure hunt and tents were a hit. Walking the
plank & firing cannonballs went down well.

They loved searching for all the clues.....I
will definately be doing it again ! The tunnels
were the most enjoyed thing by Charlie and Alex
loved sitting in all the tents......even the pink one ;)

The gold treasure chest ( filled  with  cheap baubles
and 'doublooms' was much used most of the day.
I forgot Just no time to take many photo's alas,
wish I had taken one of Lana in her pink tutu, tiara
 and sparkly little handbag!!

Anyway I did take the  odd photo, so see them below
my card if you want  a nosey. It does look crowded
with all the tents, but it is a very long sunlounge,
 my 50mm lens didn't help I fear!

The last one with our little 'pirates'.......Charlie had
already changed out of his stripes (twice) due to getting
wet sleeves. Anyway they all spied granddad's yummy
home grown plums in the kitchen and climbed up
and sat together to enjoy them.So I quickly grabbed my
camera ;)

Crazy Purple bird

Good afternoon friends, a lovely sunny day
here today. I hope you all have it too.
Been so busy the last few days but more
about that later.

It's a lucky dip challenge over at 'Less is More'
this week and the theme is.....

Sprays/Mists

I stared at my blank card (as you do), and
struggled to find any mojo! Then suddenly
I came up with this idea, happy days.

I sprayed by main card then watercoloured
a rough shape of my bird image. Then I
stamped my bird image again in black.

Hard to think of a sentiment to go with the
image but I liked this one. Suitable for all
my crazy friends lol, and yes I have a few.
You know who you are he he!

I loved these crazy bird stamps as soon as I
saw them. Just had to buy them of course
( that was weeks ago) . They haven't been used
until  now though... so typical of me lately!

Anyway come and have a closer look and
enjoy whatever you have planned for the
weekend. It's a  long one here as it's a Bank
Holiday, it will probably rain of course too!

ps.So Sorry this is so long now too!!!, and thanks
to anyone who manages to stay the course!

I have been very busy these last few days.
After hosting our usual Summer party, mainly
for the grown ups. I tend to do loads of extra
special food/drink and really make an effort.

I made so many fancy starters, everyone loved
them. Can't believe that every one of them was
finished .....and the main meal..... and the
puddings too! I hear they starve for days before
 they come here lol.

My OH made several types of home-made
ice-cream too which went down very well
indeed. Not to mention his home-made lager.

Anyway I digress. I decided the children
needed a special day of their own too.
A pirate themed treasure hunt! Ahem....
this was when I got carried away as usual!

I bought a big wigwag ( mainly for the boys),
a pink princess palace (for the  girlies)
and a 3 way tunnel system. Ok I can hear the
 laughing !!!!

I intend to join them all up  and
add a small tent I already bought for the
boys and they love already. Rugs, cushions,
signs, pennants etc. all in place now.

Yes I am probably mad lol ,but I think they
are gonna just love it all ! We have a very large
sunlounge at the back and it all fits in there
nicely. Still lots of room to move around thank
heavens.

I have printed out lots of pirate type signs and
pictures, hats. OH has painted a wooden box
gold for the treasure hunt and made binoculars
for the boys. I have filled the box with 'treasure'
now ;)

I got pirate balloons, eye patches and lots of other
bits for the children to play with. Doing the treasure
clues took ages (groan), but all finished now.

So it's all planned , I hope they all enjoy
the day tomorrow and have a good time ;)
I may show you pics later if you aren't too bored
already. The feathers I cut out and strung together
for the wigwam was the worst bit! I made 3 strands
but when  I moved them to tie to the wigwam they
all got tangled up.

Have you ever tried to untangle
card feathers from a long cotton strand of them?
Which was also getting in between the said
feathered ends arrrgghhh. I almost lost the
will to live.

Anyway it's all done now, I just made a mahoosive
roasted veg lasagne so I won't have to do much
in the kitchen tomorrow. All the pirate 'stuff'
is in a pile, balloons blown up....and relax!

My son said "do you hire yourself out for children's
 parties"....I won't tell you what I said !!!

little time to make cards lately.

Note to self.....  'stop buying stuff '. Hmm

'one layer' card too, just happened for some
 reason!

I used Distress ink to stamp it lightly then Zig pens

Enjoy Your Day card

Good afternoon friends, and it's a lovely hot and
sunny day here today. I hope you all have
good weather also ;)

As it's Saturday yet again I have another
'Less is More' card to share with you once more.
This time it has to be 'One layer' and ......

'The Eyes Have It'

I came up with this idea. I used this cute Sherri
Baldy digi from her  'Big Eyed Dolls' collection.
This one was already coloured, so I have added an
extra watermark over it for copyright reasons.

I just added a matching shadow under the image
and a sentiment. I added the swirl/swash as an extra
 bit of detail too.
ps. It's my Birthday today ;), I have had so many
lovely pressies and been very spoilt ! A lovely
massage last week too.

Just chilling today, we are having our big family
party next weekend as two of our family are
both off camping this week. Enjoy your weekend
whatever you have planned.

I will add a recent photo I took of Amelia below
my card. So happy to get that particular one as
I have been trying for ages.......isn't she a real cutie ;)

Hello card

Good afternoon friends, just popping in with
another card for this week's 'Less is More'
challenge.

It's a colour  one this week and 'Berry Shades'.
I went with a purple/pink combo here.
Well I just had to sneak in some pink of
course didn't I !  I do hope you like it.

ps. Just realized it was my luverly talented friend Sarah's
birthday  yesterday, from 'Sazzle Dazzle Crafts'.
I hope you had a lovely day Sarah ;)
Have a peek at her blog if you haven't been there.
She makes the most beautiful cards!

It was also my BIL's birthday yesterday too. It's
mine on Saturday, my  youngest son's on
the 11th and my  DIL's on the 16th. So much
celebrating to do !!!

First time we will all be together with the new
baby at our usual family Summer party. Also
our SIL has a new job so even more reasons to
celebrate.

I think there will be a lot of the 'falling down
 water' drunk that day ;)

Anyway come and have a closer look at my card.
