You're a Star

Good evening friends, hope all is well
with you. Just back today from a few days
away to the beautiful Lake District. I will
show a photo too....see bottom of page.

 More about that later though!

This week over at  'Less is More'
 the theme is...............

'MASCULINE'

This is what I came up with, I even used
some of my favourite card stock for the
 star........I mainly just admire and
stroke it !

Anyway come and have a closer look
and enjoy your week whatever you
 have planned ;)

ps. Ok to just skip this bit if you just
 want to see my card!

Alas our main reason for our trip up
North was for a funeral of a very close
friend.

He was such an amazing artist and teacher,
just no end to his talent...as we found out.
Looking at all his many paintings/sculptures/
pen and ink drawings.....WOW so much
 variety in his work too.

He made some beautiful sculptures which
are to be found in many public places
near where he lived. If you are ever in
Lancaster, see his 10 stages of Christ
sculptures in the church at the University
 there.

We were so lucky to be given some of his
artwork by his lovely wife to remember him
 by also.

I must say he has inspired me so much
yet again looking at all his work. I am even
tempted to get out my watercolours and
try painting....oh my !

Autumn card

Good afternoon friends, I hope you are
all enjoying your weekend so far.

As it's Saturday yet again ( how did
that happen so quickly!)  I have
another  'Less is More' card to share
with you today.

It's 'One layer' card week this time
and the theme is....

AUTUMN

I masked off part of the card and
blended a few distress inks on one side.
I  then stamped a tree and added a few
 leaves with Promarkers.

I used several colours to give it an
'Autumn'  look. Finally I added a
sentiment  and drew a few birds to add
more interest.

Job done....and relax . Enjoy your
weekend whatever you have planned ;)

Blossom card,tag and bag

Good afternoon friends, brrr it's a bit chilly
here today. Autumn is well and truly here
I think.

I have a few photo's to share with you.
I made a few cards and matching bags and
also a bottle  tag. This is the pink set,
I will show you the Cool Aqua set
 in another post.

Blossom, Thank you

I just fancied making a few bags for
my SIL's & a friend with a matching
card. As we are visiting them soon, I
thought it would be a nice surprise.

I will either fill the bags with some
yummy chocolates or bake some
cookies. I may add a pair of earrings
if I can find the time to make some.
They do seem to LOVE my earrings
 lol!

Pink, blossom, bag

I have some clear acetate to wrap them
( the cookies/chocs) in. I will add a
matching ribbon too. Then pop it all
in one of the bags. The wine of course
and maybe a nice bouquet of flowers
 too ;)

The bags were a bit of a faff to make,
but after a couple of trial runs I just
went for it with proper card! Lots of
tutorials out there so I won't add a link.

Hi everyone, just popping by to share
another 'Less is More' card again.
It's a colour theme and 'Jewel Colours'
this week.

This is my second attempt, I went with
stamping, heat embossing and then
distress inking. I then added my latest
die...... such a pretty flourish I think.

Sorry if you now want it too. That's
how I end up with most of mine lol !!

Good afternoon friends, hope you all have
the lovely sunshine we are seeing here
 today! Wow  October already........ where
 did September go to??

I am here to share another 'Less is More'
card once again. It's a colour challenge
this week and.....

This is what I came up with. We were
babysitting yesterday so had to wait
until today to make my card ;)

I am loving these bright colours too,
I tend to stick with pastel shades. So
nice to have a change!

Anyway grab a cup of tea/coffee or even
a glass of vino and come and have a
closer look.

Happy crafting and enjoy your week

Green Ombre Sympathy card

Good afternoon friends, such a warm sunny
day here too. I hope it will be a nice October.

Just stopping by to show you this sympathy
card. Sadly I have had to make far too many
of these lately.

I have heard of five deaths in the last two
weeks ! First my elderly neighbour lost her
dear husband. Then a good crafting friend
lost her lovely husband.

Then my SIL lost a close friend in an
accident. My DIL lost her granddad. Then
a couple of days ago my closest oldest
friend lost her husband very suddenly.

I hope that is all for now, my heart goes
out to all their poor relatives & friends.

Anyway come and  see my card, it
seems to be my 'go to' card now for
sympathy cards. I find black too
harsh and depressing.

I hope the recipients liked them too and
found comfort in the wording. I always
try and say something uplifting.......
and can only hope it helps a little. I
used the green ombre colour on the
insert too btw.
